This is what Americans really think about Donald Trump\u2019s UFC birthday bash, which is set to take place on the grounds of the White House on Sunday (June 14).<\/p>\n
Trump becomes only the second sitting president to reach the age of 80 this weekend and to mark the occasion, he\u2019s hosting an event dubbed UFC Freedom 250 on the White House\u2019s South Lawn.
\nThe event is commemorating America\u2019s 250th birthday, but it just so happens to fall on the same day Trump is celebrating his 80th birthday.<\/p>\n
On Sunday, the White House will host six bouts, while the show will be rounded out with a bit of music.<\/p>\n
However, the majority of Americans disapprove of the event, according to a recently published poll by YouGov.<\/p>\n
Over 9,000 American adults were asked by the polling company: \u201cDo you approve or disapprove of the White House hosting a Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fight as part of its Freedom 250 celebrations?\u201d<\/p>\n

\n40 percent said they \u2018strongly disapprove\u2019 of Trump\u2019s plans, while 11 percent \u2018somewhat approve\u2019.<\/p>\n
The survey also found 12 percent of those quizzed \u2018strongly approved\u2019 of the UFC event and 15 percent \u2018somewhat approved\u2019.<\/p>\n
Finally, 22 percent of those polled in the survey said they were \u2018not sure\u2019 of America\u2019s birthday celeberation event.<\/p>\n
As you\u2019d probably expect, much of the disapproval came from Democratic voters, though 43 percent of independent voters said they \u2018strongly disapprove\u2019 of the cage fight.<\/p>\n
The majority of Republicans said they either \u2018somewhat approved\u2019 and \u2018strongly approved\u2019.<\/p>\n
America\u2019s birthday celeberation is being held in a 90-foot tall portable arena nicknamed \u2018the claw\u2019, with 4,000 spectators set to be in attendance.<\/p>\n

\nThe president said earlier this week that the structure could stay up indefinitely, saying it could be similar to the Eiffel Tower, which was meant to only be a temporary structure for the 1889 Paris Exposition.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was supposed to be taken down immediately after the world\u2019s fair,\u201d Trump said in a TikTok video.<\/p>\n
\u201cWell, they never took it down.\u201d<\/p>\n
The president continued: \u201cWe\u2019re building something in front of the White House that\u2019s quite attractive to a lot of people.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s gonna have the big UFC fight on June 14th, and I\u2019m looking at it and maybe we\u2019ll never, ever take it down.\u201d<\/p>\n
