A woman who was filmed emptying out a New York Knicks bin so she could take it with her has been fired from her job.<\/p>\n
The New York basketball team had been holding their championship parade recently (18 June) after winning their first NBA title in over 50 years, with over two million people showing up to celebrate.
\nThere was a lot of cheering and a huge number of people were wearing the team\u2019s signature blue and orange colours, even the bins in New York were getting in on the action as some of them bore the Knicks\u2019 colours as well.
\nOne fan who thought she\u2019d bag herself a souvenir was 40-year-old Angie B\u00e1ez, the New York Post reports, with footage of her picking up the limited edition can and emptying its contents onto the street being posted online.
\nShe then appeared to walk off holding the painted bin, with her later taking it onto the subway with her.<\/p>\n

\nHowever, they added that the woman has since lost her job, she\u2019d been working as a director at JPMorgan Chase.<\/p>\n
Her former employer said in a statement: \u201cThis employee is no longer with the company.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Post reports that as of 20 June the NYPD said they had received no complaints about what had happened and nobody had been charged.<\/p>\n
The NYPD today (24 June) confirmed to LADbible that they had not received any complaints about the matter since then.<\/p>\n
In a statement the New York City Department of Sanitation said: \u201cDumping trash onto the street and stealing public property for your own personal use are both illegal, antisocial behaviors, and not what New Yorkers do.<\/p>\n
\u201cOn top of all that, doing both on camera is incredibly stupid.\u201d<\/p>\n
The woman has certainly suffered for it considering she\u2019s lost her job.<\/p>\n

\nAccording to the BBC, several New York City residents said the Knicks\u2019 NBA victory had made people in the city seem more friendly.<\/p>\n
\u201cI see people holding the doors open for each other, just being genuinely nice to each other. I don\u2019t think New York\u2019s been this united ever,\u201d student Daniel Nemesure said.<\/p>\n
People in the celebrating crowds said the atmosphere felt \u2018special\u2019 and \u2018honestly felt like the end of World War II\u2019, with the \u2018electric\u2019 atmosphere being praised.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s almost enough to make you want to steal a bin to commemorate the occasion.<\/p>\n
Mayor Zohran Mamdani gave a speech saying: \u201cSo often, when this city comes together, it is because we are forced to by a moment of tragedy or adversity.<\/p>\n
