Reagan Cox was arrested on Saturday, June 27 in Brevard County, Florida, after reportedly resisting arrest during a traffic stop.<\/p>\n
Inmate records and a statement from the Brevard County Sheriff\u2019s Office state that the US woman has been accused of attempting to smuggle cocaine into jail by hiding it inside her body.
\nThe 30-year-old was booked into Brevard County Jail, where she was screened with a body scanner, which found an \u201cabnormality\u201d in her \u201clower region,\u201d according to investigators.
\nThey stated that it was in this part of her body, also known as her \u201cjail purse area if you will.\u201d
\nThis resulted in the Florida woman being taken to a changing room, where officers searched her, ultimately revealing that she had tried to sneak drugs into the penitentiary.<\/p>\n

\nAfter corrections deputies took Cox to a changing room, she allegedly tried \u201cto shield\u201d her buttocks with her hand, according to authorities.<\/p>\n
Once the workers removed her hand, \u201ca baggie dropped to the floor containing approximately 3.8 grams of cocaine,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n
The Sheriff\u2019s Office wrote in a lighthearted statement on Facebook: \u201cYou really just can\u2019t make this stuff up\u2026 butt you sure can try as this one puts the ole \u2026 \u2019those are not my pants\u2019 excuse to shame!!\u201d<\/p>\n
Cox even denied knowing about the drugs, telling deputies that it must have been put there in the midst of an \u201cintimate encounter,\u201d said the statement.<\/p>\n
The sheriff\u2019s office statement then explained: \u201cThere\u2019s just not much else to say about this one folks, other than Cox received an additional charge for Introduction of Contraband into a Detention Facility for bringing cocaine into the jail facility!!<\/p>\n
\u201cFolks, if not realizing that someone left cocaine in your \u2018Jail Purse,\u2019 is not a good enough reminder to not do drugs, then I don\u2019t know what is!!\u201d<\/p>\n

Will Cox face more legal trouble?
\nIt is currently unclear if her actions will result in more severe punishments.<\/p>\n
Online inmate records indicate that Cox was released from custody later that day, with it yet to be confirmed if she entered a plea to the charges.<\/p>\n
There is also the possibility that she retained an attorney to speak on her behalf.<\/p>\n
