Bronson Battersby was 2 years old, alive and trapped with his father’s corpse, social services knew and did not enter his home: the child lost his life to starvation

Bronson Battersby was two years old and was alone in a house in Skegness, England, with the only possible companion: his father’s corpse. Kenneth Battersby, 60, suffered a heart attack on December 29, 2023 while holding his son in his arms. He managed to put him down on the floor before collapsing. From that moment on, the child was trapped, without food, without water, without anyone. Only Skylar, the family’s boxer dog, who could not open the door for him either.

Social services had a legal obligation to visit that home: Kenneth was classified as a vulnerable person. They went on January 2. They knocked. No one answered. They left. They returned on January 4. They knocked. No one answered. They left. Only on the third visit, on January 9, did a social worker ask the landlady for the keys and go in. She found Bronson curled up next to his father’s leg. Both dead.

A neighbor stated that in the early hours of January 1 she heard a child repeat “dad, dad” as if trying to wake him up. His mother, Sarah, directly blames social services. And justice?
